‘’Hometown (Take me to)’’ is that classic story of thinking of finally settling down, moving back to your hometown, starting a family etc. You can feel the influence of Sam Cooke. Connor (Seidel) and I are huge fans of his music. I think he has the most beautiful voice in the world. What I love about Sam Cooke is how honest and real his music is. His voice and his songs are timeless. I was trying to channel a little bit of that energy with this song and I think it has a special place on this EP. It’s a lot brighter than anything else on this project but it’s full of truths.
